Youth Fountain are ready to showcase their softer side with the release of their new, stripped down EP Letters To Our former Selves Acoustic.
A fresh take on the band’s 2019 album of the same name, the new EP features acoustic renditions of “Rose Coloured Glass,” “Deadlocked,” “Letters to Our former Selves,” and “Blooms.”
Putting a heavy focus on vocalist Tyler Zanon’s vocal abilities, with a softer acoustic guitar replacing all percussion and basslines from the original album, the four reimagined tracks add an additional layer of vulnerability to the already emotional lyrics.
The band’s first release since their 2019 album, the new EP came alongside the announcement that the band has officially become a solo project.
“I’m very excited to announce I have an acoustic EP of my personal favourite songs off LTOFS debuting now on Dreambound via Pure Noise Records,” Zanon shared via the band’s Instagram. “I will also be continuing Youth Fountain without Cody as he is pursuing new musical endeavours.”
But with this departure also came the exciting announcement that the singer is already at work on a new album.
“The project started out as just me, so I will be continuing on as is. You can expect to see a new full length LP out in early 2021 which will feature the full band sound as previously before.”
You can stream Letters to Our Former Selves Acoustic E.P. out now, and be sure to follow Youth Fountain on social media to stay up to date on all things related to their upcoming album.
