Yungblud, Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker have become quite a trio. Individually, they are the faces for a variety of different genres- recognizable by their own talents and personal style. But together, they form a super pop punk, alternative rock conglomeration that is impossible to ignore. And even more impossible not to dance to.
Beginning their collaborative efforts on Machine Gun Kelly’s rock debut “I Think I’m Okay,” the trio then reunited for “Body Bag” and most recently, “acting like that,” off of YUNGBLUD’s new album weird!
And though it’s been over a month since weird!‘s debut, YUNGBLUD and crew are keeping fans entertained and engaged with the release of their brand new “acting like that” music video.
Easily one of the most uptempo and fun songs off of weird!, “acting like that” has an energy level that brings listeners to their feet. From the opening verses sung by Machine Gun Kelly to the subtle percussion that gradually picks up as the song progresses and lastly to YUNGBLUD’s intro following the first chorus, the song is full of twists and turns that keep you moving and ready to dance. Which is the same energy their new video emits.
Starting the video off with YUNGBLUD stumbling into a phone booth to give MGK a call, there is a clear dark ambiance to the scene. But it takes a few moments before viewers are able to see that this suspicious vibe comes from the fact everyone surrounding the musicians are zombies. Yes, you read that right. Brain eating zombies.
Throughout the next three minutes fans are taken on a journey through MGK, Barker and YUNGBLUD entertaining crowds of zombies and living their best pre-pandemic (or perhaps post-pandemic in an alternate universe, given the zombies) lives. With high spirits, great energy and perfectly captured showmanship, the video makes us long for the days when we can rejoin the screaming crowds at concerts and dance our faces off at the hopefully upcoming YUNGBLUD/MGK/Travis Barker world tour.
You can stream “acting like that” out now, and be sure to check out both YUNGBLUD and MGK’s full new albums, linked below.
