It is officially December (again) and that means it is finally socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music non stop from now through the end of the holidays.

But instead of streaming the same classic tracks over and over, we are spicing it up this year by sharing our list of favorite original Christmas tracks by some of the best emo and pop-punk artists of this generation.

With an anti-holiday anthem from Blink-182, a romantic track from The Ready Set, and a classically gut wrenching tune from Real Friends, we have songs for fans of all sub genres and all moods ready for streaming.

You can check our our full list of favorites below, and be sure to follow our Christmas Spotify playlist- linked at the bottom- to listen to each of the tracks listed below in addition to some of our favorite covers and classic Christmas singles.

“December” by Neck Deep

December would simply not be the same without the track “December” by Neck Deep. A classic heartbreak anthem, this song offers listeners a look into a lonely holiday that will have you feeling all sorts of emotions. And for even double the feels, check out “December (Again)” featuring Mark Hoppus.

“Yule Shoot Your Eye Out” by Fall Out Boy

An angsty, pop punk classic, “Yule Shoot Your Eye Out,” is one of the original Christmas yet not technically Christmas songs that will have any elder emo jamming out at all times. You cannot go wrong with Fall Out Boy.

“The Bad List” by Z Berg and Ryan Ross

A beautiful yet morbid song and music video, “The Bad List,” is one of our favorite holiday songs to just marinate in. And though it is yet another song about a relationship turning sour at the site of mistletoe, the beautiful duets and soft-spoken melodies help this track stand out from the others.

“(This Christmas) I’ll Burn It To The Ground” by Set it Off

The angstiest anti-Christmas track of them all, “(This Christmas) I’ll Burn It To The Ground” is the perfect track for anyone who hates the holiday season or who just needs an angry song to jam out to.

“I Don’t Wanna Spend Another Christmas Without You” by The Ready Set

The first of the more up beat and romantic side of our playlist, “I Don’t Wanna Spend Another Christmas Without You” is a fun song about sharing your love with your partner and reminding them that they are all you need for the holiday- and every holiday to come.

“I’m With You” by Mayday Parade

One of the hardest parts of the holidays is the increased awareness and attention to the loss that has happened throughout the year. This Mayday Parade song acknowledges that and serves as an ode to those have passed on. They’ll never be forgotten, and this season is a perfect time to honor their legacies.

“Fool’s Holiday” by All Time Low

A song you can truly listen to year round, “Fools Holiday” is an ode to changing your life and becoming a better person in order to repair things with a loved one and spend a fun holiday season together.

“I Had A Heart” by Real Friends

Real Friends may have split up, but their Christmas song will live on with us forever. And though this song is once again not the happiest or cheeriest, it provides a sense of realism and comfort for anyone struggling to face this season.

“Not Another Christmas Song” by Blink-182

A cheeky anti-Christmas anthem, Blink-182 returned to their holiday track making with the release of this rock track last year. Calling out all of the worst parts of the holiday season, this song is brutally honest in the best way.

“All I Can Give You” by Jason Lancaster

In classic Jason Lancaster fashion, this song features prominent focus on his unique vocals and a beautiful piano melody. And though we may not all be able to write a beautiful Christmas song for our loved ones, this track will resonate with anyone struggling with the gifting season.

“Nothing For Christmas” by New Found Glory

An acoustic, sleigh bell and vocal focused track about needing nothing for Christmas because you already have the perfect gift- your partner.

“Feels Like Christmas” by Panic! At The Disco

A cute and upbeat pop song about being in love at Christmas time, this Panic! At The Disco is perfect for window shopping (or online shopping, since it is still 2020) and sipping hot cocoa with your loved ones.

“12 Days of a Pop Punk Christmas” by Sunrise Skater Kids

The final pop punk track- and possibly the best- comes from parody artist Jarrod Alonge, who reimagined the “12 Days of Christmas” to be the emo kid anthem. Shouting out everything from a love of pizza to a Patty Walters obsession, this track is sure to make even the most reserved listeners laugh and eagerly await the Christmas season.
