Season 16 American Idol alum, Catie Turner, has released her lead single “Therapy” in preparation for her new EP Heartbroken and Milking It due 16th July.

The song is a fun-filled singalong summer tune that will have her fans humming and dancing. The singer-songwriter addresses a relationship where your partner needs to address their struggles, as she sings:

“I can’t be your therapy / You depend on me but it’s not healthy”

Some of us may know that all familiar feeling of wanting to fix or help someone but it can take a toll on your emotional and mental health. Turner speaks to this in a playful and quirky manner, “I’m sorry I can’t fix you, it’s not place to try.” It’s another one of those things that is placed on women’s shoulders, an expectation to help at the cost of your own wellbeing. Turner is saying no, get help!
