Just under one week after announcing their collaboration, Demi Lovato and Marshmello have blessed fans with the release of their new single “OK Not To Be OK.”

In partnership with Hope For The Day, a nonprofit dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention awareness, the new single shares a release date with National Suicide Prevention Day and boasts a positive message reminding fans that it is okay not to be okay.

An electro-pop single with groovy bass and catchy synths overlaid by Lovato’s powerful vocals, the track repeats the lyrics “it’s ok not to be ok,” along with other anecdotes that remind listeners that showcasing emotions is normal and that they will be okay in the end.

The track’s music video also showcases Lovato and Marshmello dancing around with their younger selves, reminding them that they will get through the difficult times and see brighter days ahead. The video then ends on a screen full of mental health resources provided by Hope For The Day, including hotlines, websites, and text lines that fans can reach out to for support or help.
