We’ve all been there. Watching a TV show, listening to a new band, or scrolling Tumblr for hours when a character or artist catches your eye and suddenly takes over your brain.

Whether it be a curiosity, a one sided lust, or general fascination, the effects of “fan-girling” take over and all you can think about is what your life would be like if this character was a part of it- outside of their on screen or stage presence.

And this universal fascination is exactly what Jessica Luise talks about in her new single “Television Mister.”

Released last week, “Television Mister” navigates the feelings of falling in love with a fictional character, and fantasizing about how life would change if this character was a real person you were in a relationship with.

“Fell in love with a man who lives in pictures / Wish that I could join him, he’s my Television Mister.”

A transformation from Jessica Luise’s normal acoustic folk sounds, “Television Mister” is the singer’s first single to feature a full band- moving towards a more indie rock vibe, though still tinted with a hint of her classic folk sounds.

With playful yet relatable lyrics, and a catchy swing to its beat, this song is the perfect track for anyone who has daydreamed about living in an alternate reality or just about getting away from the monotony of daily life.
