Kaleena Zanders is here with a powerful message and we are so excited to listen.

The genre-defying singer who often refers to herself as the “EDM Whoopi Goldberg,” made waves last week with the release of her open and honest track “RELOAD,” which examines police brutality in a new lens.

And as of yesterday, to accompany the video, the singer also released a new music video that perfectly encapsulates the song’s emotions and meaning byway of beautifully colored animations.

With the chorus reminding listeners to “reload on love,” Zanders uses the track to call attention to police brutality and the protests that have exploded throughout the country over the past few months.

Through calling out her own experiences with the authority figures she’s encountered, the singer asks for people- especially those in power- to revamp their way of thinking and instead of acting in violence, to act with kindness.

“With keeping it completely real, I have such great optimism and always dream of a world where the center of our actions [is] love,” the singer shared on Instagram.

And though Zanders also shared that the track was written last year, prior to this year’s resurgence of attention directed at police brutality and violence against persons of color, it could not have been released at a better time.

You can stream “RELOAD” out now wherever you stream music, and be sure to follow Kaleena Zanders on social media to stay up to date on all future releases.
