In an age of online dating and increased social media presence, it’s become incredibly easy to find ourselves falling for people we’ve never met- or becoming infatuated with someone solely based on their digital persona. And though this phenomenon isn’t new- there seem to be a lack of songs about how it feels to fall for someone through a screen. That is, until this week as Lauren Sanderson has once more captured our attention with the release of her new single “Girl From The Internet.”

Inspired by the start of Sanderson’s own relationship with her girlfriend, “Girl From The Internet” is a romantic ode to falling head over heels for someone with nothing holding you back… Even when you’ve never met said person in person.

But instead of having doubts and letting your insecurities get the best of you, this single doesn’t let negativity seep in, but instead keeps you bopping along for the entire three minutes and six seconds that it lasts. That is, until you hit repeat.

The third single to be released by Sanderson this year since announcing her journey as an independent artist, “Girl From The Internet” follows “Hi.” and “QUEEN BEE” and gives fans yet another glimpse into the multi faceted talent the singer possesses.

“I see myself as a channel,” she shares. “When people feel my energy, or hear my lyrics, I want them to feel empowered and use that inspiration to create the life they want to live. To see someone who came from self-belief and know they can do the exact same for themselves. That’s all I really want.”

We have a strong feeling that this won’t be the last new track we hear from Sanderson this year, and if you have enjoyed what you’ve heard thus far, be sure to catch her opening for MAX on select dates this fall, and follow along on social media for the most updated news, releases and more.
