Lisa Danaë was born to be a star, and the new music video for her single “Starlet” only further proves that undeniable fact.
After dropping the lyric video for “Starlet” at the end of July alongside the track’s debut, Danaë has accumulated nearly 2k views on the lyrics alone- not including any streams on other streaming services.
And now, with a music video that is sure to catch any pop fan’s attention, we are positive that Danaë is about to make her way to the top of the up-and-coming star list.
Released this morning, Danaë uses the video to both shows off her knowledge of early 2000s pop icons and also showcase her own style and musical sense- reminding listeners that she is her own starlet and doesn’t need to try to fit a pre-made mold to be iconic.
Channeling Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera through the use of memorable fashion choices and 90s pop star inspired dance moves, the video showcases the singer having fun as she re-creates some iconic music video looks. Some of which include Spears’ “You Drive Me Crazy,” Aguilera’s “What A Girl Wants” and Carey’s “Heartbreaker” ensembles.
And if you haven’t heard the track itself yet, this music video serves as the perfect introduction. With building intensity by use of instrumentals and vocal control in addition to lyrics all about self empowerment, “Starlet” reminds listeners to lean into their own personalities and embrace the idea of being different.
There’s no better time to prove the haters wrong than right now.
You can check out the new video now on YouTube and be sure to check out Danaë’s full collection now, wherever you stream music.
