Meet Casa Loma, the alternative-pop project dreamed up by Man Overboard bassist/vocalist Nik Bruzzese.
After a near five year hiatus from music, Man Overboard made their return to the alternative scene with their brand new single “Lifeline” earlier this month. But while thousands of fans and band members alike shared the excitement of their comeback, Bruzzese was still working behind the scenes on his own project, now known as Casa Loma.
After suffering the sudden losses of both his father and close friend Tim Landers (Transit, Cold Collective) in a short period of time, Bruzzese turned to music as a way of grieving. However, unlike Man Overboard’s heavier punk rock, Bruzzese wanted to create something sonically different. Something that he could not see fitting into Man Overboard’s repertoire.
And thus, Casa Loma was born.
Bruzzese took to social media to announce his new project last Wednesday, alongside the release of two brand new singles: “Famaglia” and “Travelers.” Both tracks showing a softer side of the bassist, with soft vocals and a strong focus on acoustic guitar.
And along with the two new tracks, the songwriter also announced his upcoming debut solo EP, “This Is Coping” which will be released June 5th.
You can listen to both tracks now wherever you stream music, and be sure to follow Casa Loma on social media to stay up to date on all new releases.
