“It’s So Hard To Let Go (I Miss You)” by Via Fiori

The final track off of Via Fiori’s debut EP “In Good We Trust,” is officially out.

The sixth single to be released by the band since their debut earlier this year, “It’s So Hard to Let Go (I Miss You)” dropped earlier this morning and is the band’s most angsty release to date.

A heavier rock track compared to previous releases, “ISHTLG” features both intense percussion (as expected for a project created by drummer Jake Bundrick) and a crazy guitar solo about two minutes in- coupled with emotion packed lyrics about a relationship that has come to an end.

While this song may not be the choice for a relaxed, breezy summer afternoon, it IS the perfect choice for anyone looking for a good old-fashioned emo song to rock out to, or just a genuinely good song to check out.

You can stream both the single and the full “In Good We Trust” EP, out now.

“down” by Mokita

An emotional ballad about knowing your self worth and fighting against your internal demons, “down” is the latest single by Nashville based Mokita.

A vulnerable and heartbreaking song driven by solely by a piano, light percussion and Mokita’s vocals, “down” serves as a love letter to all listeners who may be battling mental illness and serves as a reminder that they are not alone in their fight.

As an artist who has been vocal about his own mental health battles, Mokita aims to let all listeners know that prioritizing yourself and your mental wellness is important and that despite how scary it may seem, things will always get better- a message that all of us need to hear during this wild year.

“Jeans” by Priya Francis

A metaphor for way of saying goodbye to a relationship that no longer feels like a good fit- “Jeans” is the latest single by Priya Francis.

An R&B track at its core, “Jeans” showcases Francis’ angelic voice while also putting her growth in both musicianship and songwriting abilities on display. The most mature of her catalogue, the track tells a former partner up front that things have changed while also offering solutions to friendship.

This song has a cool, relaxed vibe to it that makes it perfect for both a breakup playlist and just an everyday listen- even if your ‘jeans’ still fit.

“Bird Girl” by Julia Bhatt

“Bird Girl” is the perfect track for anyone who wants to pack it all up and escape.

Written about unapologetically distancing yourself from a negative relationship in order to pursue your own passions, “Bird Girl” is a funky indie-pop track that is sure to leave you feeling free and ready to fly away.

The latest single by 18-year-old Julia Bhatt, “Bird Girl” perfectly showcases the singer’s creativity and her unique vocals- with a style that sets her apart from other rising indie artists.

And, if you like “Bird Girl,” be sure to stay tuned for Bhatt’s upcoming EP, set to release this October.

“Juggernaut” by Fatality

A bit of a genre and tone swap from the previously mentioned tracks, “Juggernaut” is the latest single by UK based metal band Fatality.

A song about fighting for what you believe in and reminding yourself that you are capable of achieving your goals, “Juggernaut” is full of the exact type of positivity we need to get our day off to a good start.

“Juggernaut is about always standing tall, getting up when you’ve been knocked down and giving it your all no matter what you’re aiming for in life,” the band shared. “We can all be that Juggernaut if you put your mind to climbing that mountain that’s in front of you.”

With catchy guitar riffs, punchy percussion, and an overall sense of intensity, “Juggernaut” is the perfect track to get your adrenaline racing and your brain in a positive mindset to tackle the day ahead.

“Heart Beating” by Bike Club

A fun up-beat rock track, “Heart Beating” is a classic love song written by up-and-coming Toronto based quintet, Bike Club.

The debut single from the band, “Heart Beating” is an ode to the band’s relationships and full of feel-good lyrics and a fun instrumental backing. With groovy bass lines and a steady danceable beat provided by the percussion, this song instantly lifts your mood and makes you want to dance around your house while telling your partner how much you simply adore them- even after being trapped inside together for the past five months.

A perfect launch to their career, this single is also the first peak at the band’s upcoming EP “Finding Romance,” which is due out October 16th.

“Gridlock” by Marcelo Deiss

An artist who is not afraid to call it like he sees it, “Gridlock” is the latest single by Brazilian born, London based artist Marcelo Deiss.

Inspired by the current political and social revolutions taking place throughout the world, “Gridlock” navigates living in a time of unrest and watching as history unfolds around you.

“I would say that it’s mainly about bringing attention to the injustice of the system we are living in. It was movements such as Brexit, Me Too movement, Trump, Black Lives Matter and other topics that deal with oppression that got me into writing about what’s currently happening in our society.”

A folk-tinged rock song, “Gridlock” showcases Deiss’ unique gritty vocal styling while pairing his relaxed instrumentals with potent social commentary- making the track one that will leave you thinking about your own impact on the world.

“Good At Pretending” by Sloane feat. Perry Bancs

The latest release by electro-pop artist Sloane- also known as Nick Rosen- “Good At Pretending” is the perfect sad bop for a summer afternoon.

A track all about moving on from a relationship that has come to a sudden one sided end, “Good At Pretending” navigates the process of accepting and processing heartbreak- something all of Sloane’s listeners can relate to.

With a feature from fellow pop artist Perry Bancs, this song is one of the most relatable and catchy of the week. With easy going backing instrumentals and easily understood lyrics that pack an emotional punch, “Good At Pretending” is a song you can throw on and bob your head along to while processing and re-evaluating your own relationships. Maybe even serving as a perfect track for a much advised against trip down memory lane.

And, as a musician with a strong history in various genres of music- between growing up as a jazz artist and eventually moving towards soundtrack creation- it is no surprise that Rosen’s new project is as relatable as it is. He is a master at creating memorable and catchy tracks, and we are anticipating his upcoming EP “Too Young To Be Lonely,” to further prove just that.

“Riches” by Sidny x Chaix

An electro-alt song that was written while collaborative duo Sidny and Chaix were in a car on the way to record new music, “Riches” is a carefree track about being in love and letting everything else fall to the side.

The perfect end of summer song, “Riches” is a playful reminder that “material possessions don’t matter when you’re caught up.” It is a track that you can let loose to or just throw on while you are in your car cruising down the freeway- the same way the track was created.

You can stream all of the above tracks now, and be sure to check out our full August playlist, stacked with all of our favorite releases from this month, linked below.
