“You’re No Good To Me Dead” by I Am The Avalanche

A song that both acknowledges the feelings of hopelessness and pushes you to want to do better, “You’re No Good To Me Dead,” is the latest single by punk rocker’s I Am The Avalanche.

The latest single from the band’s upcoming album and one of the last tracks recorded, “You’re No Good” is a punchy punk song about persevering even in the darkest of times- something that feels especially relevant over the past few months.

A reminder that we all have moments of weakness where we feel we would be better off dead, I Am The Avalanche reassure listeners that they are never alone and that they should keep pushing for just one more day. Quite frankly, no one is better off dead, and we hope this song gives you a bit of a reminder that keeping up the fight is always worth it in the end.

“Lights Go Down” by I Don’t Know How But They Found Me

A perfect spooky release to kick off the second to last week before Halloween, kings of mystery I Don’t Know How But They Found Me have just released another electro-indie anthem.

The newest single to come off of their upcoming album Razzmatazz, which drops in just one week, “Lights Go Down” is an intoxicating single about getting lost in the music and atmosphere and ignoring your surroundings while doing so.

With a few scattered references to Halloween or haunting themed stories, including an introductory reference to Sleepy Hollow and the mention of costumes, this track is both perfect in tone and energy for a Hallow’s Eve playlist- and gives us high hopes for next week’s full album debut.

“The More I Grow Up” by Me Nd Adam

We first discovered Me Nd Adam with their last single “Something Better” earlier this fall, and now the duo are back with a new mature and self aware single “The More I Grow Up.”

A soft indie pop song about coming to the realization that life is more difficult than you once thought, “The More I Grow Up” is a look back at past choices and the subsequent doubts that appear when wondering if what you’ve done so far has been worth it, or if you have wasted your time and ultimately your life.

With the chorus stating “The more I stand up, the more I get knocked down / The more I grow up the more I get let down,” the band begin to question their purpose as they begin to realize that there is more to life than just childhood fantasy and teenage dreams.

Life is not perfect, nor is it easy, but you are not alone in this feeling and this single helps listeners find some comfort in that thought.

“Take A Ride” by The R Train Band

A classic rock outfit, The R Train Band are here to make some music, get fans moving, and most importantly: have fun while doing it all.

The theme song for the colorful trio, “Take A Ride” is a carefree song all about letting loose and letting yourself fully embrace the moment you are living in- without getting bogged down by the everyday stresses of life.

Take A Ride” urges people to clap their hands, stomp their feet, get up and have a kick-ass party,” drummer Mike Annese shares. “With the present depressing atmosphere around the world today, the song is meant as a distraction. We are trying to lift people’s spirits by taking them on an exciting fun fulfilling musical ride.”

Written as an outlet for the band to introduce fans to their music and also just have a great jam session, the track is the second release by the band and gives us high hopes for the energy level and excitement in future tracks.

“Can’t Walk Away” by ellie D.

We have all had relationships or friendships that we knew were no good for us but despite the red flags we couldn’t help but stick around to hope that things would get better- even when our friends or even our own guts told us not to.

The latest single by dream pop artist ellie d. navigates this exact feeling- knowing a relationship isn’t as healthy as you’d hoped and trying to hold onto the memories of the good old days before the problems arose instead of choosing to break free and walk away.

In her signature dreamy synth-pop vibe, the songstress shares her experience of regretting the beginnings of her relationship and brings listeners on a journey with her through the nagging feeling of needing to leave but not knowing what truly will be best for both her and her feelings.

“Invisible Enemy” by Georgia Black

Described as a theatric almost James Bond-sounding release, “Invisible Enemy” is the latest single by blues singer Georgia Black.

Inspired by the current state of the world as we all try to navigate life during an unprecedented pandemic, “Invisible Enemy” flips the classic superhero script by encouraging aspiring heroes to stay inside- an idea that came to her after a close friend pointed out the fact that “whenever we’re usually unwell, we feel we have to be the hero and push ourselves to go to work, but right now, to be the hero is the other way round.”

With the haunting chorus singing the verse “the heroes stay inside to breathe,” Black points out the unique situation we all currently live in while putting an intoxicating spin on the unfinished story of 2020- hopefully encouraging listeners to continue masking up and do their part to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

“Ludlow” by Alex Noelle

A beautifully sung pop song that features layered vocals and a cappella styled verses, “Ludlow” is the newest single by Nashville based singer Alex Noelle.

With a positive and happy sounding vibe, Noelle uses the song to navigate getting over a relationship that has come to an end all while trying to not find herself caught up in happier memories of days gone past.

Described by the singer as the perfect track to “dance and wallow at the same time,” “Ludlow” showcases Noelle’s vocal ability while also putting her vulnerability on full display.

Heartbreak always takes too long, but we could listen to this track on repeat as we remind ourselves how much better we are off on our own.

“When It Breaks” by Inhaler

Irish alt-rock band Inhaler have released one of the catchiest tracks of the week with their new single “When It Breaks.”

Inspired by the unfolding of the pandemic and their wild adjustment from the hectic world of touring life to a near immediate quarantine and the shut down of the music industry across the globe, “When It Breaks” is a song that encapsulates the band’s feelings of uncertainty and curiosity that have come with the sudden global halt.

“The lyrics and the music communicate the anxiousness of how we were all feeling and still are now a couple months later. It’s definitely the most politically driven song we’ve released so far,” the band shared. “It’s our interpretation of this strange and imperfect world we’ve come to live in. Things are gonna change and we are gonna be there when they do.”

And though “When It Breaks” may be the last release on our list this week, do not for a second think that means it is anything but great. Sometimes you just have to save the best for last.
