When the music industry shut down, many musicians were able to transform their careers into the digital landscape, continually releasing new tracks and scheduling live stream performances in order to help generate a bit of revenue- however small it may be.

And while most of the world began to find new ways to support their favorite artists in any way possible- it was the people behind the scenes, especially touring road crews, who found themselves struggling the hardest to make ends meet in a climate where their jobs became essentially obsolete overnight.

But thankfully several organizations have recognized this, and are doing their parts to help give back to the people who make live events happen.

Set to take place March 7th at 7pm EST, “For The Crew” is a live stream event sponsored by NoCap Live and Sweet Relief Musicians Fund in order to help raise money for road and touring staff.

“The whole of the music industry has been hit hard by Covid-19,” musician and event performer Jeff Schroeder shares.  “One particular segment of the industry that is often overlooked and/or forgotten is road crews. It’s quite simple: without our crews, there would be no shows. These are the women and men behind the scenes who help bring our music to you. With this online benefit show, our hope is to raise both money and awareness for our crews.”

In addition to Schroeder, the stream will include performances by Kevin Rudolf, Tommy Marz as well as Smashing Pumpkin’s live band member Katie Cole.

“This pandemic has been challenging for many industries, but has been entirely devastating for those in the touring world,” Cole confesses.

“While recording artists and musicians can adapt and pivot to an online format, those who work as production and road crew are completely without work now. Happy to shine a light on those behind the scenes people who make shows and touring possible. This moment is for you!”

Tickets are currently available for $15 and you can purchase them here.
