Poppy is no stranger to using her platform to take a political stand, and this week she has reminded fans once again that she stands with them.

In a post earlier this afternoon the alternative singer shared her thoughts on the current political state of the country, along with the announcement that she would not be promoting the release of her new single “All The Things She Said,” a cover of the famous t.A.T.u track as a result.

“This cover song was delivered to my label over two weeks ago with the purpose of being released in time for Pride month,” she wrote. “Unfortunately, in the time elapsed since then, we’ve been faced with a tragedy that calls for our much needed attention.”

The singer then shared that she encourages all fans to educate themselves, sign petitions, and make donations to causes that benefit minorities, including LGBTQ+ and Black Lives Matter causes.

The singer then signed the letter by her legal name, Moriah- one of the few times she has shared her name publicly.

“This cover song was delivered to my label over two weeks ago, with the purpose of being released in time for Pride Month.

Unfortunately, in the time elapsed since then, we’ve been faced with a tragedy that calls for our much needed attention.

While we are still fighting for equality in the lgbtq+ community, we still have a long way to go, and there still remains an absurd amount of injustice for minorities in America.

I cannot adequately express my distain [sic] for how our government, and above all, our president is reacting to what’s happening in America right now.

I encourage you to educate yourself, go out and protest, donate, and raise your voice to speak out against this injustice. I’ll also be sharing a few links to donate to if you have the means to do so.

I stand with you in love ❤️

-Moriah”
