April is going to be a long month.

But while all live shows may have been forced to come to a halt, and everything else seems to be up in the air, our favorite musicians have not pulled the plug on releasing some brand new, kick-ass tunes.

And this week’s releases are no exception.

From a brand new All Time Low album to a new Stand Atlantic single, we have crafted the ultimate beginning of April Quaren-tunes playlist to help get you through the quarantine slump.

You can check out each release below, and our full QUARAN-TUNES Spotify Playlist at the bottom.

Just remember to stay safe, keep social distancing, and dance like nobody’s watching (because, well, they aren’t.)

“Know Me” by Eighty Ninety

A song of hope, “Know Me” is exactly the song we needed to help remember to keep our heads up in this crazy time.

With lyrics about a love that has lasted throughout the years (which could be romantic or platonic, depending how you feel) “Know Me” is the latest single to be released by Eighty Ninety- a Brooklyn based duo made up of brother Abner and Harper James.

After gaining notoriety in 2016 with the release of their debut single “The Thirty,” the duo have solidified themselves as a band to watch by not only the likes of Alt Press and Billboard, but also Ms. Taylor Swift herself.

And now we are sharing them with you.

So! Go stream this song and call your loved ones. And if you like what you hear, be sure to check out the band’s social media pages to stay up to date on all things new music (including their upcoming EP!)

Wake Up, Sunshine” by All Time Low (album)

This album already got a full post, BUT it’s so good we have to mention it twice.

With fifteen new songs, including the titular track “Wake Up, Sunshine,” this album is one of the best releases of 2020. And while we love All Time Low by themselves, it also showcases some killer feature verses. But… we’ll let you check that out on your own so we don’t spoil them.

“Dirty Laundry” by BAD

A duo that has been dubbed “Prince meets Lizzo,” BAD are two best friends from New York who grew up with the aspiration to make music that left listeners feeling good and having fun. And with the release of their track “Dirty Laundry” last month, Julia Brex and Jackson Hoffman did just that.

All about revealing the darker parts of yourself to a new partner, BAD but a fun spin on one of the hardest parts of dating, which is being 100% honest. This song will make you want to dance and help you shake your way out of this quarantine boredom.

“Over Yet” by Hayley Williams

Hayley Williams is showing off her individuality and we are here for IT.

After announcing her debut solo project Petals For Armor earlier this winter, Ms. Williams has released an entire EP and several new singles. And though all of them are certified bops, “Over Yet” is the first upbeat track full of positivity- something we absolutely needed this past week.

And while Williams shared that she “had to envision myself as an aerobics instructor (who’s actually secretly a robot) in a post-apocalyptic society in order to get these super positive lyrics out,” we are SO thankful she did.

“Drink to Drown” by Stand Atlantic

Stand Atlantic are best known for their punk rock sound. With angsty lyrics and tracks that are full of pure energy, the Australian natives have dominated the pop rock scene over the last year. And with killer tracks from “Sidewinder” to their last release “Shh,” it is no secret that they are a band meant to rock.

But, the band’s brand new single “Drink to Drown,” shows the world the band are not only good at rocking hard.

A slower and somber track, “Drink to Drown,” replaces their classic guitar rock and heavy percussion with a soft piano and lighter vocals- a perfect representation of the band’s incredible range.

And while this may NOT be the best song to help lift your spirits, it should be a mandatory listen for anyone who wants to see what true talent is. Because this is it.

How Big Is Your Brain” by Super American

A soft rock track about getting to know someone, “How Big Is Your Brain,” is one of the chillest tracks on this playlist. And it’s a song you can easily listen to on repeat for hours without getting bored. That’s what this track is. And we urge you all to do just that.

“Evertything Is A-OK” by Violent Soho (album)

Violent Soho are a punk rock band from Australia who are here to have fun, make great music, and also crash some people’s living rooms to play small, spontaneous sets. And lucky for us, they have just released a brand new album titled “Everything is A-Okay” and it is everything we needed to rock out to at the end of this hectic week.

Released via Pure Noise Records, “Everything is A-Okay” is the band’s fifth full length release, and their first since 2016’s “Waco.”

And though it may have taken the band four years to release a new album, the results were well worth the wait.

You can stream their new album here, and check out their comedic antics in their music video for our favorite track “Pick It up Again,” above.

“Magnificent Desolation” by Carrousel (Album)

After hitting our radar with the release of their track “A Solitary Soul” earlier this year, Carrousel have slowly become one of our favorite alternative artists. And their new album, “Magnificent Desolation,” solidifies that status.

Formed by duo Sharon Rose and Joel Piedt, Carrousel are a study in creativity. Creating their album using a combination of modern digital synths and old tube mics, analog mixers, and cassette recordings- their music represents the contrast been new and old in addition to the struggle of existing in a world of uncertainty. Tackling the concepts of mental illness, existential crises, and a living in a state of personal and national dystopia, “Magnificent Desolation” is an honest, real life documentation of internal struggles portrayed in the most beautiful and haunting way.

You can stream “Magnificent Desolation” here, and check out the album’s lead single “Psychobabble Drama” above.
