It is a sad day for fans of State Champs.

The New York pop punk band has announced that guitarist Tony Diaz has stepped away from the band.

In a Tweet posted earlier this afternoon, remaining members Derek DiScanio, Ryan Scott Graham, Tyler Szalkowski and Evan Ambrosio, shared that while Diaz had chosen to leave State Champs, there is no bad blood between them.

Diaz also shared their sentiments, thanking both the band and fans for being supportive over the years.

Diaz joined State Champs in 2012 and has been featured on their albums “The Finer Things,” “Around The World and Back,” and their last release, “Living Proof.”

And while neither Diaz or State Champs have shared what the guitarist plans to do following their departure, we are sure it will be something great.
