It has been three long years since pop punk icons State Champs released Living Proof– the 2018 album that quickly became the soundtrack to the final Vans Warped Tour and fans everywhere.

With irresistible tracks such as “Criminal” and “Mine is Gold” coupled with the heart string pulling “Our Time To Go,” and angst filled “Dead and Gone,” Living Proof set the band up with quite a challenge: to grow musically and sonically while also staying true to their roots in the pop punk community. And over the past three years, the band has done just that.

Having released an acoustic EP in 2020 titled Unplugged, the group gave fans four new tracks, two acoustic covers, and 23 minutes of fresh music to get us all through the pandemic. And though this EP took a slight detour from the band’s usual upbeat, kick ass energy- this EP allowed us to see a softer side of the band. Showing off their writing abilities and allowing us all to get lost in our feelings before ramping it back up to full speed ahead.

But after waiting a full year and eleven days after Unplugged’s release, State Champs have finally let us in on their latest secret- an upcoming album and a brand new single to tide us over.

Enter “Just Sound.”

Released today, “Just Sound” is the latest and greatest single in the State Champs discography.

Giving fans the first taste of what full band and revamped Champs sounds like, “Just Sound” is a quintessential pop punk track that is guitar focused and doesn’t miss a single beat.

High energy and leaving you smiling as each new verse kicks in, this track is everything a good summertime bop should be- and has us eagerly awaiting whatever other new music is up the band’s sleeves.

“Just Sound” is the second major announcement the band have made this year, following their full US tour announcement earlier this year.

Joining recently re-emerged Real Friends, Four Year Strong, Just Friends and Bearings, the group will be kicking off the tour September 14th in Nashville and conclude October 22nd with a sold out show in New York City.
