State Champs are hopping on the holiday jingle train this year with the release of their original Christmas track “Ordinary Christmas.”

Released this afternoon, “Ordinary Christmas” is a quintessential pop punk track. Featuring the band’s high energy instrumentals and lyrics that suggest the band is heading into a less than ideal holiday season, the song is an ode to those of us who don’t see Christmastime as the best time of year.

And though the track discusses many of the trials and tribulations that come with the holiday season- including over indulgence, over spending, and constantly dodging those annoying questions from relatives- it also serves as a nice reminder to take stock in what you are thankful for this year. After all, we wouldn’t want to miss this.

You can read the track’s full lyrics below, and be sure to stream it now- wherever you get your music.

“Ordinary Christmas” Lyrics

It’s complicated, parents are wasted
Wondering if I’m still alright
Not with the drama
Uncles and grandmas
Say the same shit every time
They ask me if I’ve made a dime

Honestly, every time it comes to holidays
It constantly fills my mind, there’s not much I can take
In the end, there’s no way I’m gonna miss this
All I want is an ordinary Christmas

2007, decked out with presents
Everyone always wants more
Stuck in the driveway
If I had it my way
I’d throw it in park, stay indoors
This time of years such a chore

Honestly, every time it comes to holidays
It constantly fills my mind, there’s not much I can take
In the end, there’s no way I’m gonna miss this
All I want is an ordinary Christmas

Stockings up, fill your cup
And chill around the tree
Sober up, got enough
Now that you’re here with me
Should’ve known I was never gonna miss this
All I want is an ordinary Christmas
