Three years ago Arizona based pop punk band The Maine vowed to “Make America Emo Again,” and now, after the release of their seventh studio album, they are continuing to do just that.
The band’s latest release, “You Are Okay,” hit the airwaves last Friday after months of anticipation.
The band began giving fans a taste of their new tracks back in January, when they released the album’s leading single, “Numb Without You,” marking their first release since their 2018 acoustic album.
Then again in February with the release of a lyric video for “My Best Habit.”
And though many clips were posted on the band’s Instagram account in the weeks leading up to the album’s release, it wasn’t until Friday that all ten songs were all officially live.
With tracks ranging from the upbeat “Tears Won’t Cry” and “One Sunset” to the slower and somber “Flowers on the Grave” and “Forevermore,” The Maine show full range on “You are Okay.” With everything from groovy bass lines and electronic keyboards the album both experiments with new sounds and gives fans a taste of the old Maine they know and love.
The full track listing is as follows:
- Slip the Noose
- My Best Habit
- Numb Without You
- I Feel It All Over
- Heaven, We’re Already Here
- Forevermore
- Tears Won’t Cry (ShinjU)
- One Sunset
- Broken Parts
- Flowers on the Grave
