Earlier this week Twenty One Pilots frontman Tyler Joseph teased fans with the announcement of a brand new track.

And while at the time, he had not shared when the track would be released, he sent fans into a frenzy- wondering what the song would sound like, when it would drop, and what it would be about.

And now, four days after the singer’s original post- the track is here. And it was well worth the (small) wait.

“Level of Concern” is the band’s first release since 2018’s “Trench,” and while it is one single track as opposed to a full album or even extended play- it was the perfect song for the current state of the world.

With 80s inspired synths overlaid with percussion and electric guitar, “Level of Concern” is an up-beat track with lyrics that face the reality of the global state of uncertainty and anxiety.

“You could bring down my, level of concern.

Just need you to tell me we’re alright, tell me we’re okay.”

And in addition to the track addressing current events, it also was created to help those who are in need following COVID-19 disrupting their lives.

Along with the announcement of the track last Sunday, Joseph shared that a portion of proceeds from the track’s streams and related merch sales would be donated to Crew Nation- a global relief fund created by Live Nation to assist crew members who had lost their income with the recent surge of tour cancellations.

And if all of that good news still hasn’t convinced you to stream the track, the song’s video- which also debuted this morning- gives viewers a glimpse at the band member’s personal lives as they navigate filming a music video while also social distancing.

Featuring drummer Josh Dun’s fiancée Debby Ryan and Joseph’s wife Jenna- both of whom are seen assisting the men in filming and decorating their studio spaces for the video- fans are given the inside look at what quarantine life for the duo is like. And if that wasn’t enough, it also served as the music video debut for Joseph’s daughter Rosie, who was born earlier this year.
