Twin XL have released their debut EP and it is a BOP.
“How To Talk to Strangers” dropped promptly at midnight on Friday, after weeks of anticipation following its February 7th announce.
Featuring the previously released “Friends,” “Good,” and “Sunglasses,” the EP also includes new tracks “Neon Summer,” “Thrill,” “Everybody’s Talkin’,” and “Don’t Wake Me, I’m Still Dreaming.”
In the past few months Twin XL have quietly taken over their own corner of the music scene.
With members coming from a variety of projects (including The Summer Set) they have brought a well balanced mix of synth-pop, rock, and an 80s rock vibe to the table and have turned it into something new and refreshing.
After releasing their first single, “Good” back in September the band quickly caught the attention of many fans- including some who did not previously follow the member’s previous careers.
Then, when they released their socially aware “Sunglasses” in November, they began to show more of a range, while establishing a solid sound.
A band that both made upbeat happy tracks and songs about being socially anxious? What more could you ask for?
It wasn’t until earlier this year though that the band began to fully show fans what their plans were, and just three weeks ago, the band dropped both their third song (another song about social awkwardness and anxiety) “Friends” and the news of their now released EP.
“Thank you for being here,” the band shared alongside the announcement.
This announcement also came with a surprise- when earlier this week the band released their song “Neon Summer” to fans who pre-saved their EP on Apple Music and Spotify- giving us a few more hints about what their first album would sound like.
And, now that it’s finally here- we can say we are loving it.
Check out the EP below, and as always, let us know your thoughts in the comments.
