TWIN XL have released a new song, it is a hit.

“Friends,” marks the third single released by alt-rockers TWIN XL, and was released promptly alongside a music video at midnight February 8th- much to the excitement of fans and listeners all over.

Despite their name, TWIN XL is actually a trio, made up of brothers John and Stephen Gomez, formerly of The Summer Set, and singer/songwriter Cameron Walker from Nekokat.

Formed in mid 2018, the band started as a way for its members to venture out on a new path, and create music that sounded like nothing any of them had created before.

“We really wanted to find that happy balance between writing a catchy pop song that still had a lot of depth lyrically and also had a dark sonic undertone,” the band shared in an exclusive interview with Ones to Watch in regards their new single.

“The lyrics in the first verse talk about our desire for isolation and the internal conflict of an introvert. As the story progresses, we find sanctuary in the presence of strangers in strange rooms completely outside our comfort zone – here, we are free of judgement and we are free to be whoever we want.”

The release of “Friends” also came with the announcement that TWINXL’s first EP, titled “How To Talk to Strangers,” will be released March 1st- just in time for their spring tour supporting Jukebox the Ghost and the Mowgli’s.

With their previously released tracks including the upbeat dance track “Good” and the anthem for anyone struggling with social anxiety “Sunglasses,” it sounds like this EP will be perfect for all of us who struggle with wanting to be an extrovert, but living in the reality of being an introvert. And, like the perfect excuse for us to all practice being extroverts by attending their upcoming shows.

We for sure cannot wait to give it a listen come March, and find out what color suits the boys are going to wear on their tour.
