With a multi decade spanning career- the Vitamin String Quartet have remained one of the most unique acts in the music world since their debut album in 1999.
Best known for their string covers of popular rock, pop, and every genre in-between tracks, the Vitamin String Quartet are now continuing their reign into 2021 as the best modern orchestra with a whole new set of tunes, musicians, and cultural relevance thanks to a new partnership with Netflix’s Bridgerton.
Helping to provide a modern connection to a show that takes place in 1813, the Vitamin String Quartet have lent their talents to the show’s soundtrack with orchestral covers of several of pop’s hottest songs, including Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next,” Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood,” Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy,” and most recently, Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You.”
The latest cover, which was released alongside the others as part of the Bridgerton soundtrack last year, was arranged by Kathy McMillen and features orchestra members Amanda Lo and Leah Zeger on violin, Lauren Elizabeth Baba on viola, and Caleigh Drane on cello.
And to help share the news of their release, as well as the other tracks the Vitamin Sting Quartet released for Bridgerton, the group have also shared a live music video for “Girls Like You,” filmed entirely from their homes.
Giving each performer a chance to show off a bit of their personality, the video adds an extra element of fun and flair that helps listeners become more involved in the music and ready to dance almost immediately.
You can listen to all of the Vitamin String Quartet’s songs now, including “Girls Like You” wherever you stream music, and be sure to follow the orchestra on social media to stay up to date on all future projects.
