On Saturday, amongst the celebrations of this win for democracy, artist and producer FINNEAS released a new track called “Where the Poison Is.”

This track expresses his disdain for President Donald Trump, his policies, and his overall demeanor in handling situations like the current pandemic.

FINNEAS has been open about his disdain for the current climate created by President Trump holding office the last four years. He has been encouraging his following to educate themselves on the issues that plague America and to go out and vote.

With lyrics like “When all my friends get sick, it’s on the President / When all my friends get sick, it’s on his government” and “There’s a snake that think he’s the President”  you can see FINNEAS’ anger towards the way President Trump has led this country.

While the turnout for the election was in favor of former Vice President Joe Biden, “Where the Poison Is” also points out that ending Trump’s presidency is not the end of the fight. The lyrics Once we put this all behind us We get to go right back to school shootings and a climate crisis” brings forward the issues that plague the nation that we still need to fight for.

“Where the Poison Is” continues FINNEAS’ musical exploration into writing songs that feel impactful. In September FINNEAS released the track “What They’ll Say About Us”, which feels like a track hopeful for a brighter future. The track was written during the LA Black Lives Matter protests and as many were sitting in hospital rooms with their loved ones who were fighting COVID-19. In an interview with WSJ, FINNEAS said he envisions the song “as if you were singing to your loved one who was in a hospital bed while the world was protesting outside.” He however did keep the song fairly ambiguous allowing his audience to connect with it their own way. In October he also released the track “Can’t Wait to be Dead” which focuses on his relationship with the internet and social media especially during the year 2020.

FINNEAS is set to release his first full length album by the end of this year or early next year.
