Nobody knows you better than you know yourself, so why date anyone else?

A bold statement, yes, but when you’ve been wronged too many times before and need to catch up on some self love and TLC, what better move to make than to dedicate time to getting to know yourself all over again?

Sure it may take some time, kindness and a bit of practice rewiring your way of thinking, but for rising pop sensation MEIA, this challenge is exactly what inspired her brand new single, “Date Myself.’

An anthem of empowerment, reclaiming your femininity, and putting yourself first, “Date Myself” is a fun pop song that encourages listeners to embrace their ability to be alone and lean into their sexuality.

With lyrics about giving up on dating in order to reconnect with your own emotions and feelings- both mentally and physically- “Date Myself” challenges the idea that you need a partner to be happy and fulfilled.

Hoping for the track to connect with listener’s in whatever way they may need to be reassured, MEIA encourages listener’s to take whatever they need from the song, sharing that she wrote the track with the intent of having multiple interpretations- all of which share her goal of unapologetically finding comfort and love within yourself.

“Date Myself was written to empower women in hopes that they start to care less about society’s standards and just embrace how they feel,” the singer shared in an interview with Boyfriend Magazine. “Men aren’t the only ones who crave sex. Women have this whole time, just likely felt the need to be “ladylike’ and quiet about it. I think it is definitely still frowned upon for a woman to be as outspoken by some but who cares. That’s why I wrote a song like ‘Date Myself,’ to inspire and empower women around the world to be unashamed and embrace their sexy self.”

“I think it’s extremely important to feel sexy and confident yourself before others tell you so.”
