Approximately 14 weeks ago, The Summer Set sent emo millennials into a frenzy by announcing their reunion. And not only were they reuniting for some live performances- they were reuniting for good.

Dropping their first single in 5 years, “Street Lightning” just a few days later, the band officially stepped back onto the stage and into our emo hearts.

And now, the band are continuing on their path to redemption with the release of yet another new single, appropriately titled “Back Together.”

Released this past week, “Back Together” documents the band’s split from the perspective of frontman Brian Logan Dales, who was rumored to be the cause of their breakup back in 2017.

Starting off the track sharing how the singer felt he had lost himself and needed to return to his hometown in Arizona, “Back Together” follows Dales on his realization that sometimes going “back to the basics,” is exactly what you need to get your head on straight.

And in true Summer Set fashion, the track also features several callbacks to past songs- including lyrical references to their hit single “Figure Me Out” – giving fans a few Easter eggs as they listen to what is hopefully just the beginning of the band’s new era.

Dedicating the track to both The Summer Set as a whole and the “kids on the barricade,” who have shown up in droves following their reunion, the track is a touching homage for the past and a great indicator of the future.

You can stream both “Back Together” and “Street Lightning” out now, wherever you stream music. And be sure to follow The Summer Set on their (re-activated) social media accounts via the links below.
